Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Senior Estimator will supervise the newly formed Estimating Team as well as perform take-offs and provide special estimates for the Vibration Isolation, and Restraint Systems business unit. He/she will provide support to the VIRS Sales group as well as guide the team to provide estimating support to VIRS for all projects. The successful candidate will also help develop the department’s processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a small team of estimators to provide comprehensive estimating support to the VIRS team
  • Help develop, maintain, and where necessary improve team metrics
  • Provide direct supervision to estimating team members
  • Responsible for the management and deliverables of all take-off requests
  • Perform seismic and isolation take-offs and estimates
  • Assist in streamlining of estimating and take-off processes through continuous improvement
  • Document and maintain SOPs, policies and standards for Estimating team
  • Handle all escalation of estimating issues
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of take-off tools and guidelines
  • Develop skills of team members. Oversee training requirements.
  • Promote core values amongst team members
  • Setup and onboard all new team members
  • Performance management and review of Estimating team staff
  • Facilitate strong communication and collaborative environment between Estimating team and others, especially Sales and Project Management teams
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the VIRS team.

Qualifications

  • University or College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years HVAC industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years quotation and estimating experience
  • Management/Supervisory experience is valuable
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
